These terms apply when you use QuiNotes. By using the App you agree to them.
1. Licence
You have a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use QuiNotes on devices you own. You may not reverse-engineer the App except where the law permits it regardless of this term.
2. What You Write Is Yours
Your notes, checklists, photographs and recordings belong to you. We claim no rights over them, and we have no access to them.
3. Your Notes Live On Your Device
QuiNotes stores everything on your phone and keeps no copy. Making backups is therefore your responsibility. The App writes a backup file whenever you ask it to, and we strongly recommend doing so before changing phones - uninstalling deletes your notes, and we cannot recover them for you.
4. Reminders Are Best Effort
Reminders depend on Android's alarm scheduling, which the system may delay to save battery, and which is cleared by a restart until the App can restore it. QuiNotes asks for the most accurate scheduling the system will grant, but a reminder is not a guarantee and should not be relied upon for anything critical.
5. Photographs, Recordings And Files
The App saves its own copy of any photograph you attach, any voice memo you record, and any other file you attach, so a note keeps its attachment even if you later delete the original. Those copies live in private storage and are removed when the note is deleted or the App is uninstalled.
The App displays photographs and plays recordings itself. It cannot display a PDF or a document, so opening one passes that file to another app of your choosing; what that app then does with it is governed by its own terms, not ours.
Text that appears inside a photograph is read on your device so that search can find it. This is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Note Locking Is Not Encryption
The optional lock asks Android to check your device credential before a note opens, and prevents that note from being previewed in notifications, on the widget, or in search. It does not encrypt the note. A backup file you create contains locked notes in readable form, and the App says so before writing one. Do not treat the lock as protection against someone holding your unlocked device or your backup files.
7. Importing
QuiNotes can read a backup file produced by another notes app and bring those notes in. That conversion is a convenience and is best effort: formats change without notice, and we cannot promise every note, or every detail of a note, arrives intact. Nothing is removed from the other app.
8. Advertising
The free version shows advertisements: a banner, an occasional full-screen ad when you leave a note, and sometimes one when you start the App fresh (not when you return to it from the background). Ads never appear while you are writing. They can be removed permanently with a one-time purchase, "Unlock everything", which also unlocks the locked papers, the paper designer and rich-text formatting.
9. Purchases
Purchases are one-time and handled entirely by Google Play; we never see your payment details. Prices are shown by Google in your own currency. Refunds are governed by Google Play's refund policy, not by us. A purchase is tied to the Google account that made it and can be restored on another device with Restore purchases on the unlock screen (Settings > Unlock everything). There are no subscriptions and nothing expires.
10. Availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue the App or any feature. Features that depend on Google Play - purchases and advertising - depend on services we do not control.
11. No Warranty
The App is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind to the extent permitted by law.
12. Limitation Of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, LogicGateGames LLC is not liable for lost data, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the App.
13. Changes To These Terms
We may revise these terms. The date above reflects the latest version.
