QuiNotes: Notepad & Memo - LogicGateGames

Last updated: September 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how LogicGateGames handles information when you use QuiNotes. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

1. Your Notes Stay On Your Device

QuiNotes keeps your notes in a private database on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in, and no sync. We operate no servers for your content, so there is nowhere for your notes to be sent.

The App does use the internet, and we will not pretend otherwise: it is required to fetch advertisements and to talk to Google Play about purchases. Your notes are not part of either exchange.

2. Information We Collect

We collect nothing ourselves. We have no analytics, no crash reporting, and no account system. We never see your notes, their titles, your photographs, or your voice recordings.

The advertising service we use does collect data inside the App, and we list it here because "we have no server" is not an exemption:

Nothing from a note - not its text, its title, its photographs, its recordings, nor whether it is locked - is included in any ad request or purchase check.

3. What Is Stored On Your Device

This data is readable only by the App. It is not included in Android's cloud backup, and it is removed when you uninstall QuiNotes.

4. Photographs, Recordings And Files

When you attach a photograph, QuiNotes asks Android's photo picker for that single image. It does not request access to your photo library, so it cannot see any picture you have not chosen.

The App saves its own copy inside its private storage, so your note still shows the picture if you later move or delete the original. Voice recordings are made only while you are holding the recorder open, and are written to the same private storage. Neither is ever transmitted.

You can also attach any other file — a PDF, a receipt, a document. As with a photograph, you choose the single file and QuiNotes copies it into its own private storage rather than keeping a link to wherever it came from.

There is one thing worth knowing about those files. QuiNotes can display a photograph and play a recording itself, so it never hands either to another app. It cannot display a PDF or a spreadsheet, so when you tap one to open it, the App passes that single file to whatever you choose to open it with, for as long as that app is handling it. This is the only circumstance in which anything from your notes leaves QuiNotes, and it happens only when you tap the file yourself.

5. Reading Text In Your Photographs

So that search can find words that appear inside a picture — the amount on a receipt, a name on a card — QuiNotes reads the text in each photograph you attach.

This happens entirely on your device. The recognition models are built into the App itself; nothing is uploaded, nothing is downloaded, and it works with the device offline. Google is not involved, and neither are we: the picture never leaves your phone and no one but you ever sees the result.

The words found are stored with the note, in the same private database as the note itself, purely so that searching can match them. Because they are stored with the note, they are included in a backup or export you create, and they are deleted when you delete the note or uninstall the App.

Recognition is imperfect and is only ever used to help search find a note. QuiNotes does not interpret what a picture is of, does not recognise faces, and does not use anything it reads for any other purpose.

6. Locked Notes

You can lock any note, free of charge. The lock uses your device's own credential - fingerprint, face, PIN or pattern - checked by Android. QuiNotes never receives your fingerprint or face data; it asks Android whether the check passed and is told only yes or no. We store no PIN, password, or hash of our own.

A locked note is never previewed where someone else might see it: not in a notification, not on the home-screen widget, and not in search results.

Please note that a lock is not encryption. A backup file you create yourself contains your locked notes in readable form, and the App tells you so before it writes one.

7. Backups And Exports

QuiNotes can write your notes to a file, and this only ever happens when you ask for it. Android asks you to choose where the file goes. Once saved, that file is outside the App and under your control - if you place it somewhere that syncs to a cloud service, that service's own privacy terms apply to it. QuiNotes itself uploads nothing and has no access to any cloud account.

8. Permissions

QuiNotes requests no other permissions. In particular it does not request storage access, location, contacts, or your photo library.

9. Advertising

Ads are shown via Google AdMob. You can opt out of personalised ads in device Settings under Google - Ads. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, you will be asked for your advertising consent choices when you first open the App, and you can change them at any time from the App's own Settings screen.

Ads can be removed permanently with a single one-time purchase. There is no subscription.

10. Children

QuiNotes is not directed at children. The App is not marked as child-directed for advertising purposes, and we collect no information from anyone ourselves.

11. Your Rights

Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to give you a copy of, correct, or erase. Everything is on your device: you can export or back it up at any time from within the App, and uninstalling removes all of it. To reset the advertising identifier, use your device's own Google settings.

12. Changes To This Policy

We may revise this policy. The date above reflects the latest version, and any material change will be reflected in the App before it takes effect.
