Effective date: August 6, 2026 · Applies to the WAKEM Android app (package: com.logicgategames.wakem), published by LogicGateGames LLC.
This Privacy Policy explains what information WAKEM collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. WAKEM is a mission-based alarm clock and sleep tracking app. We built it to keep as much as possible on your device rather than on our servers, and this policy tells you exactly where that's true and where it isn't.
Data stored only on your device. The following is stored locally in WAKEM's own database and is never transmitted to us or any server we control:
If you uninstall WAKEM, this data is deleted along with the app, unless your device's own backup system (e.g. Android's automatic backup) restores it on reinstall.
Physical activity. If you turn on automatic sleep tracking, WAKEM asks for the Physical Activity (Activity Recognition) permission so Android can tell it when you fell asleep and when you woke up. See the dedicated section below.
Camera. Two optional wake-up mission types — Photo and Scan Barcode — use your device's camera. See the dedicated section below.
Advertising identifier. WAKEM shows ads through Google AdMob (unless you've purchased WAKEM Premium, a single one-time purchase). AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID and other technical identifiers to serve and measure ads. See the Advertising section below.
Purchase information. The one-time WAKEM Premium purchase is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made and its product ID, but we never see your payment card details — those are handled directly by Google.
If you choose the Photo mission, WAKEM asks you to register a photo of a spot in your home (like a bathroom sink) and, when the alarm rings, take a new photo of that same spot to dismiss it. If you choose the Scan Barcode mission, you register a barcode (like a product in your kitchen) and scan it to dismiss the alarm.
Both missions process images entirely on your device using on-device image matching / barcode scanning. Photos and scanned images are never uploaded, stored on a server, or seen by us. The camera permission is used only while a mission is actively in progress.
WAKEM can log your nights in two ways. You can tap "Going to bed" and "I'm awake" yourself, which needs no special permission at all. Or you can turn on automatic sleep tracking, which uses Android's Activity Recognition (Sleep API), provided by Google Play services on your device, to detect when you fall asleep and wake up.
This detection happens on your device. WAKEM receives only the resulting sleep and wake times and stores them in its local database — they are never sent to us, and we operate no server that could receive them. Automatic tracking is off by default, is entirely optional, and can be switched off at any time in Settings, after which WAKEM stops using the permission. Manual logging keeps working either way.
WAKEM uses Google AdMob to show banner ads and an occasional ad when you open the app. WAKEM does not show interstitial or rewarded ads, and never shows an ad while an alarm is ringing. AdMob may use your advertising identifier and other data to serve ads and measure their performance. You can review how Google handles this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Where required (for example under GDPR in the EU/UK), WAKEM presents a consent form before showing personalized ads, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can reset or change your ad preferences at any time from your device's system settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads on most Android versions), or by resetting your advertising ID.
Purchasing WAKEM Premium stops AdMob requests entirely going forward.
WAKEM offers a single one-time purchase, WAKEM Premium. There is no subscription. It is processed by Google Play Billing under your Google Play account. We don't collect or store your payment method, billing address, or card details. Purchase management, cancellation, and refunds are handled through the Google Play Store app, not within WAKEM itself.
WAKEM does not currently require an account or sign-in, and does not sync your data to a cloud server. Everything listed under "Information We Collect" above lives in a local database on your device, protected by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption, etc.).
We do not sell your information. The only outside parties WAKEM shares data with are the service providers necessary to run the app:
Each operates under its own privacy policy, and neither receives your locally-stored alarm, sleep, or routine data — that never leaves your device.
WAKEM is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
